The best place to stay in Port Angeles!

Perched on the Western Edge of North America, Port Angeles can sometimes feel like the last civilized place on the world. That doesn’t mean we don’t have access to great culture!

AS YOU LOVE IT: SHAKESPEARE AND WINE

Every year, Port Angles puts on a very special production of a Shakespeare play, free for audiences as part of their Shakespeare in The Woods Festival! This year’s play will be As You Like It, and it’s sure to be a hit. However, if you love theatre, then you’ll want to head to Camaraderie Cellars’ for a fundraiser for this event on July 6! Enjoy truly excellent wine while some of the area’s best actors illustrate why Shakespeare means so much to them; a great party for a great cause!

OLYMPIC MUSIC FESTIVAL

Taking place July 14 and 15 in nearby Port Townsend, the Olympic Music Festival is a celebration of classical music. Combining the natural beauty of the Olympic Peninsula with the profound beauty of the greatest composers of all time, this is a showcase of both established and rising stars of chamber music.

We’re especially excited to be able to see Tessa Lark, a young American violinist who is already making waves with her unconventional personal style and her award-winning musicianship. Winner of the prestigious Naumburg International Violin Award in 2012, Tessa is also the Silver Medalist of the 2014 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, making her the highest-ranked American-born winner in the Competition’s history. Don’t miss her playing with accomplished double-bassist Michael Thurber!
Another treat will be New York’s Merz Trio, a profoundly original group that focuses on a “collage” style approach to classical music, incorporating multi-media influences into their diverse and provocative performances!

Also playing will be Julio Elizalde, who is notable not only for being a profoundly skilled pianist in hot demand across the world but also for being the artistic director of this very festival!
There’s so much to see and do when you visit the Olympic Peninsula. When you do, we hope you’ll stay at the Olympic Lodge. We strive to share the best of the area with all our guests, offering best-in-class service so you’ll have a great stay any time of the year. Book your room today
